Reflection Blog Posting:

Before this class I had never heard nor seen Portaportal. I have no idea what that meant and how easily it could be used. Once I got on I didn't want to stop using it. This would be a great site for teachers to organize activities. With so many resources listed online for lesson plans, activities, and creative classroom ideas it is very important to keep those materials organized and this Portaportal helps with that so much. I honestly believe that if I had the resources in my classroom, that every student would have their own portaportal so that they could organize the educational activities and other resources used to do research. This would save time and confusion, and possibly make doing research more enjoyable for the student.

In my opinion, the traditional way of teaching is not nearly as effective because the traditional way of learning has greatly changed. The web has provided access to almost any answer you are seeking, and does it at such a fast past. Children today are still interested in learning, however, to keep that interest going we, as teachers, must feed into the passion for technology the students share. Incorporating technology and technology based lessons into the classroom could prove to be very beneficial. Keeping interest and attention is key when trying to not only teach something, but have a learner LEARN something.
