I did research on several topics about teaching with technology and I was absolutely interested. I found many articles on student centered learning and this is what I am most interested in. These articles talked about the how the way that students today are learning, has vastly changed. Students are responding less and less to the usually classroom routine of lecture leaning. In today's society people of all ages are using technology to discover information. With the web and the technology to access the web being much more accessible learning styles have changed and teachers should embrace this change.
Classrooms should be set up to allow students to access and discover the information rather then sit and listen to lectures about the information. This new technology also provides educational activities for students to sharpen there skills while having fun. Classrooms and educators should create an environment that allows students to learn in the new ways without being an inconvience

What this movement means to me and other educators
This new technology integrated in to education is an amazing movement. As an educator I will need to make an extreme effort to keep up with technology and how it can be used in the classroom. I see myself using things like the ladybug. smart boards, you tube, and the web. I would also love to have access to computers in the classroom and use interactive educational games as a center. These tools will greatly assist me in reaching the different styles of my students. One example being media. Media has great potential in reaching students who learn visually, auditory, and if there is something like a song with the video then the kinesthetic learners will be reached as well.
Helping students evaluate the accuracy and appropriateness of content on the web. Before allowing the students to search there needs to be clear guidelines. The classroom can spend some time at the beginning of the school year and cover the guidelines of the internet. The web allows the students to discover the information rather than just memorize and repeat the lecture. I believe that using these tools in the classroom would be extremely beneficial to the student, the teacher and the classroom as a whole.
